Additionally it helps prevent painful back strain caused from trying to hold a heavy wheel and tire in place while fumbling to get a lug nut started to take away the load. The female ended design acts a short shroud that covers more of the lug bolt to protect the threads and prevent them being damaged while maneuvering the wheel and tightening lug nuts. The 11.11mm (7/16-inch) hex end provides an easy way to install and remove the hanger either by hand or using a compatible socket or combination / adjustable wrench.
